Category: RCIA,

RCIA will be finishing up our 2018-2019 Session in the next few weeks. The RCIA Team: Cheryl Mitten, Barb Brooker, Gaston Placa, Deacon Marcelino & Brenda Hernandez, and Gerard & Kelly Metoyer, want to thank Our Lady of Humility Church Family for your support and prayers throughout the year for our candidates. You have been an inspiration to them through your weekly presence, prayers, one on one moments of encouragement, and welcoming spirits. Each of the candidates have also been a model of commitment and inspiration to all of us throughout the year.

A Special Thank You to those of you that sent letters and cards of welcome to our neophytes at the Easter Vigil. They were very much appreciated.

Our Sponsors, Karmann Wimmer, Christie Hall, and Debbie Villalobos deserve our special acknowledgment this year. They accompanied their candidates each week, and at all of the Rites and Celebrations throughout the year, giving welcome, support, affirmation, and witness to their faith.

Sundays were special days for RCIA when the group was sent forth after the homily at each Mass to further dwell on the Scripture readings for the day, and what it meant in our daily lives. Team and Sponsors took a turn or two facilitating these “Break Open the Word” Sessions after the homily each week.

In addition to the team, Bonnie Tipton, Ryan Krueger (St. Joseph), Jack and Arden Robinson, Deacon Mike Mercure, Pete Owen, Deacon Askew, Sharon and Ed Harrigan (St. Paul the Apostle), Fr. Paul, and all those who voluntarily shared their personal testimony were guest presenters throughout the year. Thank you, one and all, for sharing the fruits of your love, faith, experience, testimony, and expertise.

Tremendous Thanks to Fr. Paul for his frequent presence and full support to the team and candidates. We appreciate your spiritual guidance and prayers.

May none of us ever forget the precious prayer of our Lord and Savior Jesus as He prayed for all believers.

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as We are one. I in them and You in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.” –John 17:20-23
