Please join us in Congratulating Deacon Jim Askew on his Retirement. Deacon Jim has been a Deacon here at Our Lady Of Humility Parish for twenty-two years. He has been such a Wonderful and Amazing Deacon! He has helped our Parish in so many ways, with presiding over Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, Wake Services, Communion Services, Holy Hours, and at our Masses.
He has assisted our Food Pantry, and he has done our Pet Blessings on the Feast Day of St. Francis every year. He also served at the Cancer Treatment Center of America, ministering to patients and employees, as well as providing Communion Services for those that could attend. Deacon Jim also served on the Catholic Charities Parish Board, organizing diaper drives, and assisting at Christmas time so that children would have gifts. He has been the Chaplain for OLH’s Helping Hands since it began, twenty years ago. In that role, he assisted countless people in need, and helped them with moves. He has also helped his wife, Gloria, to be a Leader to the Ministers of Care Program at OLH. He has always had such a gentle, kind, and generous demeanor. If you needed something, Deacon Jim was always there to lend a helping hand.
Our Parish has been truly Blessed by having such a Fantastic and Giving Deacon! We wish him the Very Best in his Retirement, and all of his future endeavors. Deacon Jim we will all miss you so much! Thank You and God Bless You for all that you have done for our Parish!
