Supporting our local soup kitchen
It has been reported that more money is spent on Super Bowl parties than any other occasion of the year. During the month of December over 1100 meals were distributed. The soup kitchen distributes meals on Wednesday-Saturday.
A large cooking pot will be in the Narthex on February 10/11 at St. Patrick Church and volunteers will be at the doors at Our Lady of Humility for cash donations.
Souper Bowl of Caring is a youth lead movement to tackle hunger on a local level. It was started by one church in 1990 and has spread for the last 34 years nationwide. Both OLH and St Patrick have participated in the past. A total of $193 million has been raised nationally, but donated locally to food related causes. This year both St Brigid churches will donate the money raised to the Holy Family Soup Kitchen.
